What’s the difference between #adulting and being an adult? At a Louisville bar, a group of 20-something college friends get together each year to catch up and try to find answers to such pressing existential questions. As their jobs, relationships and living situations change, who moves forward and who gets left behind? A play about what it means to grow up and take flight, for a generation perpetually struggling to emerge from its cocoon.
About the New Play Project
Aligning with Actors Theatre’s dedication to producing new work, the New Play Project is a series of one-act plays developed in the spirit of fostering relationships with emerging playwrights while giving members of the Professional Training Company space to interact with new work.
This season, Actors Theatre has commissioned three playwrights to write three one-act plays for the series. Throughout the development of each new play, the playwright works closely with a cast of acting apprentices to create a story in collaboration with directing and literary apprentices. These plays are then performed in unique performance spaces at Actors Theatre or throughout the community.
